Students will create an 8" x 10" fused glass portrait of a pet or animal. The project will be tack fused to retain the textural aspect of the project. Students can bring a photo or utilize inspirational samples provided by the instructor. No experience necessary.
Last chance! Kasahara makes materials present as well, assuredly applying a minimalist, contemporary aesthetic to them, though her work is also influenced by the abundance of objects available for repurposing in our modern world.
Glass Fusing is a fascinating media, you can shape it, stack it, weave it or melt it into a puddle! Each student will get exposed to the glass fusing process in this introductory class. No experience necessary and no glass cutting will be required for this intro level class.
In this class, students will learn hand-building techniques, be introduced to pottery tools and terminology, and create their own fairy house creations out of clay!
Join us in learning the ancient painting technique of sumi-e; Japanese/Chinese brush painting. In Japanese 'Sumi' is the name of the ink used to paint with, and 'e' translates to picture in Japanese.
