Security Guard - Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center
Job Description
The Arts Center is a three-building campus providing a variety of services and classes to people of different ages. We are looking for a highly competent security officer to join our team to monitor the premises and protect our valued staff, visitors, tenants, and inventory. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a security officer or guard, as well as training in self-defense and first aid. He or she will have a sharp eye with quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior, and prevention of theft or vandalism.
This position will work under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, but the entire campus will rely on this person for protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers, tenants, visitors, and other people and property on the grounds. They will work closely with the facilities team on event set-ups, teardowns and other duties as assigned. Hours will vary daily, but not to exceed 40 hours per week. Compensation will be discussed at the interview based on experience.
Objectives of this Role
• Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control.
• Be visible and observant at all times, greeting staff, guests, and vendors in a courteous and attentive manner.
• Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately.
• Maintain the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance.
• Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
• Patrol property on foot, security personnel, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter are secure in all weather conditions.
• Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents.
• Control and monitor surveillance equipment, and perform building and equipment inspections.
• Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures.
• Secures all doors, windows, and exits, depending on shift.
Skills and Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered security officer.
• Proven experience as security officer.
• Helpful, courteous attitude.
• Certification or working toward a certification in first aid, CPR/BLS, and self-defense.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with computers, and aptitude to learn new software and systems.
• Experience with security equipment and surveillance systems.
• Law enforcement experience.

Art Instructors
The Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center is excited to announce the return of art classes! With the great diversity and quality of local talent, the Arts Center welcomes anyone interested in teaching one or more arts classes with us. We are actively looking for painting and drawing instructors and welcome a variety of other mediums!
We are also actively seeking instructors to teach watercolor and/or painting courses for our youth programming for Friday Arts Academy! If you are interested in teach one of these mediums, or any other medium, please reach out to us!

Art Workshops for School Groups and Field Trips
We are now offering Art Workshops in Clay and Printmaking! Our workshops have been developed to meet the Colorado State Standards for Visual Arts. A typical workshop is structured for a total visit time of 2-hours; 1.5 hours of instruction time and up to 15 minutes for groups to arrive to our upstairs studios, receive their welcome and project instructions, and for cleanup time at the end.
Workshops are currently priced for school groups at a rate of $100 plus $7 per student. We can accommodate up to 20 students per workshop.

Peer Mentor Program
We are launching a new volunteer program geared toward High School students! This program will offer opportunities for participants to earn volunteer hours, to learn valuable skills and experience while assisting instructors in our youth art classes, and to be able to attend educational opportunities such as panel talks and seminars about careers in the arts, and students’ other learning goals and interests. This program will also aim to develop a youth arts community where students can develop leadership skills, have meaningful discussions with each other, learn from one another, and have regular socializing opportunities. Artist in Residence Program
The Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center strives to provide opportunities for artists to improve their skills and craft. We will be launching a new Artist in Residence Program very soon and will be including details and information here. Note that all volunteers, instructors, and staff are subject to completing a successful background check. After completing your application, please also complete the attached Background Check Authorization Form and provide a color copy of your valid driver's license to us. You are welcome to provide those to us via email to guestservices@sdc-arts.org or you can bring them to us in-person at the Museum's Welcome Center.

Friday Arts Academy Scholarship
Friday Arts Academy is our child and youth arts program which serves students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. We welcome all students and seek to provide access for everyone. We offer scholarships to as many students as possible each semester.

The Arts Center Associates
The purpose of this organization will be to create a community-wide interest in the local area to support the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center by promoting educational activities, events, and services related to the fine arts and humanities. The Arts Center Associates meet the 3rd Tuesday of the Month, September through May.
Policies:
The policies and activities of this organization may in no instance conflict with the stated purpose of its parent organization, the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, and shall be ultimately responsible to the Arts Center Executive Board.
Membership and Dues:
Membership: The membership shall consist of those persons who are members in good standing of the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, and who are willing to devote a portion of their time in the furtherance of the purposes of this organization.
Dues: The annual dues of this Organization shall be twenty (20) dollars per year made payable to the Treasurer of this Organization. Dues shall be paid in January and annually thereafter.
Privileges of Membership:
Any member in good standing shall have the right to vote, participated in meetings, and to hold office in this Organization.
