Eric Elison, the Lightfoot of the Rockies
Gordon Lightfoot is a musical troubadour from Canada that started making music in the early 60s until his passing in 2023. His music was an inspiration to many rising artists of that time and shaped a generation. While Lightfoot passed away last May, his music continues to live on through Eric Elison, better known as the Lightfoot of the Rockies.
Elison is an independent Colorado singer songwriter and Gordon Lightfoot tribute artist. “I became a Gordon Lightfoot tribute artist in 2017, but I’ve been playing since high school.” Since then, Elison’s audience has been hooked to his strong bravado and uncanny musical resemblance to Gordon Lightfoot himself.
Elison’s band is stacked with talented, first-rate musicians that have played with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Charlie Pride, and even “Weird Al” Yankovic. “We’ve got a bunch of great musicians in the band. If you love the music of Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Jonny Cash and Elvis Presley, then this is the show for you.”
As we get closer to the show, Elison adds that he’s honored to be performing at the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center. “With respect to the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, I was so excited to get the call that I was going to be playing here on the main stage,” Elison said. “After seeing the venue, Pueblo should be quite proud of the Arts Center facility. I hope that the local folks and folks outside of the community take advantage of the space and come to the show.”
In the words of Gordon Lightfoot, let’s turn back the pages to the times we love best. Eric Elison, the Lightfoot of the Rockies, will be performing live at the Arts Center on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 7:00PM.
