Community Access Day is #ISDAY
International Sculpture Day
Saturday, April 27th from 10:00AM to 4:00PM
Join us for our spring Community Access Day on April 27th from 10am-4pm where we will be celebrating International Sculpture Day! During Community Access Day, admission to the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center is FREE and you can find some special activities hosted throughout our campus! Below listed are the activities that we will have throughout the day!
Along with FREE admission and Half Price memberships, these are the activities throughout the day from 10:00AM - 4:00PM:
- Clay Give-Away! - The first 50 guests to visit our Welcome Center Front Desk in the Helen Thatcher White galleries building will have the option to receive a FREE 1-pound bag of clay! Each bag of clay comes with a two-day pass for guests to mold/craft their project and glaze/paint their project.
- Create your very own sculpture at home or in our studio!
- Once your project is crafted, bring it in to our studio for it to be fired in our kiln for the first time.
- After the first round of firing, you are welcome to come to our studio to paint/glaze it!
- Once painted/glazed, we will fire your work again, turning your glaze into glass.
- After the second firing, your project is ready for pickup!
- Clay Open Studio is Open all day!
- Create Your Own Garden Pinwheel
- Sculpture Scavenger Hunt Activity Sheet - adventure through our Jackson Sculpture Garden to find all the sculptures we have around the campus!
- Community Access Day Magnet Fundraiser
- Art Expression Class from 2:00PM - 3:30PM
- Folding Fun: Paper Crane Making Class
