Welcome to our wine class, where we'll embark on a journey through the diverse and dynamic wines of Washington State, a region that has rapidly gained acclaim for its quality and variety. Let's explore the history, key grape varieties, wine regions, and the unique characteristics that make Washington State a fascinating and important player in the world of wine.

Washington State's modern wine industry began to flourish in the 1960s and 1970s, but its winemaking roots date back to the 19th century. The state's wine industry has since grown exponentially, becoming the second-largest wine producer in the United States. The combination of diverse microclimates, varying elevations, and volcanic soils contributes to the unique terroir of Washington's wine regions.
