Artrageous Young Artist Competition

August 18th - September 2nd

Theme: Monarch Butterfly

Calling All Young Artists! The Buell Children's Museum is hosting an art contest this fall! All submissions will be displayed in September and October during our fall exhibit. Winners in each age category will be celebrated on September 30th as a part of our fall Community Access Day festivities.

Theme:

This year we are inspired by the Monarch butterfly. In some cultures, the butterfly was thought to be the spirits of loved ones who were no longer present. We would love to see how you bring the beauty of the butterfly to life through art!

Competition Rules:
  • All artwork must be original and the creation of the child entering.
  • Acceptable mediums include: drawing, painting, 3D art, photography, and digital art. Digital artwork and photography must be submitted as a physical print.
  • All artwork must be smaller than 12 x 12 x 12 inches.
  • Artwork must be submitted in person at the BCM front desk, during business hours, starting on August 18th and no later than September 2nd.
  • One winner will be selected for each age category, and their work featured in our front hallway display boxes. In addition, awards for Best in Show and Outstanding Achievement will be presented. The winners will be contacted on September 9th.
  • All artwork must be suitable for a family friendly environment and cannot include profanity, nudity, drug or alcohol references, company/ brand logos, or trademarked characters.

0-3 YRS | 4-7 YRS | 8-13 YRS | 14-18 YRS
