About Your Instructor

Rachael Talbott

Growing up in Pueblo, Rachael participated in many programs the Art Center provided; and wished to share her passion for the arts with others by earning a Bachelor of Arts (with a minor in Japanese) from the University of Denver and a Master of Fine Arts from Claremont Graduate University. While earning a degree in CGU she developed her teaching experience as a Teacher’s Assistant in Scripps College and a part time Art Teacher at the First Street Gallery and Art Center (part of the Tierra Del Sol Foundation). Upon returning from California, Rachael taught various classes in a small art supply store in Pueblo, and later was involved with Pueblo Community College’s Community Education Training Division and taught at PCC as an adjunct art teacher.

Being a tactile person, Rachael developed skills in various crafts in her personal time. Her interest in wire wrapping jewelry developed after taking a class in wire Viking knit. She also began to develop an interest in the fiber arts starting with crochet, which rippled into various other forms including such as knitting, fiber spinning, and multiple forms of lace making. Due to family connections, and growing interest and skills in the fiber arts and lace making she became a Member of the Rocky Mountain Lace Guild and is currently co-vice president of the RMLG.
