Kasahara makes materials present as well, assuredly applying a minimalist, contemporary aesthetic to them, though her work is also influenced by the abundance of objects available for repurposing in our modern world. She is seldom constrained by any particular style. As she points out, “It’s more freeing to stay away from the limitations of labels and categories and to only think about the best way to realize a piece.”

Art After Hours: In the Round

Join us for a late art talk with Elise Olson about the exhibit "In the Round: Sculptures and Textiles". Due to the weather forecast, we will reschedule to next Friday, the 22nd from 6:00-8:00PM. Light faire and refreshments will be served 6-8pm in the White Gallery at the Helen Thatcher White Building.
