Radeaux - Pattern and Persistence: A Life of Celebrating Nature

Inspired by nature throughout his lifetime, Radeaux accurately paints the fauna he observes. His art incorporates patterns, geometrics, and images from a variety of cultures closely associated with nature. His media has progressed from colored pencil drawings to pen and ink, silkscreen printmaking, watercolor on paper, and acrylic on canvas. In a style unique to him, Radeaux currently paints life-sized images of the fauna around him on large canvases. 

 Radeaux has done illustrations, logos, and posters for a number of conservation, scientific and environmental organizations. He has illustrated two landmark Colorado Breeding Bird Atlases. A special section of this illustration work will be on display in the exhibition. As an active naturalist and field ornithologist he has participated in bird and butterfly surveys for many years. 

 He has been a board member of the Colorado Field Ornithologists and was bestowed a Directors Award by the organization. A longtime board member of the Arkansas Valley Audubon Society, he frequently presents programs for them on the birds and natural history of the area. He currently owns the John Deaux Art Gallery in Pueblo’s Historic District representing many of Pueblo’s leading artists.
