In Pursuit of Happenstance is a collaborative project between artist Roberta Smith and poet Barbara Ford, pairing written word with visual storytelling. The anthology was published by Ruby Creek Press in 2022 and in the following years received finalist status in the 2023 Colorado Book Awards and the 2024 North Street Book Prize. Now, in 2025, the original works and poetry will be shown at the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference center in an exhibition bearing the same name. The exhibit will feature 28 of the original works used in the book as well as 11 new images and 11 new poems.

Join us on this free event and meet Roberta and Barbara while enjoying light refreshments! This event is free to the public with Van Gogh Van Map going around the city for the evening.
