Recommended Ages 8+
Each week, students will learn new skills and techniques essential to the art of ceramics! This class will focus on hand-building projects that will challenge the student's existing skills while leaving plenty of room for their creativity to shine! Students will have the opportunity to create functional pieces of art (think mugs, bowls, plates etc.) as well as decorative pieces (sculptures, wall hanging pieces etc.) throughout the semester.
All students participating in pottery classes must have a parent/guardian review and sign our Clay Studio Rules and Liability Waiver to participate in class. We have many options for acquiring this form packet: Forms will be provided for download on this page, picked up in-person at the museum's Welcome Center front desk, completed and turned in at FAA Check-in on the first day of class, or a form can be emailed directly to you via a request sent to our Education and Programs Manager, Cayla Salas, at cayla@sdc-arts.org.

Parents/guardians are required to sign-in and sign-out students. Students will only be released to adults indicated in their registration. For unforeseen/last minute pick-up changes, please call 719-295-7200. Drop off and pick up are located in the Helen Thatcher White art galleries building in our third floor boardroom.
Students may be dropped off no more than 15 minutes before class and no later than 15 minutes after their last class. Students are allowed to bring snacks and drinks.
