About 15 years ago I had a bumper crop of Chiles in my garden. When they started turning red on the green plants, it reminded me of Christmas. That was the inspiration for making my Chile Pepper Ornaments.
I first made them for family and friends and have been making them every year since. Since moving to Pueblo, they have become Pueblo Chile Ornaments, and I use the Pueblo Mirasol Chile Peppers to make them.
It has become a highlight of the Holiday Season for me. I very much look forward to and enjoy teaching the Pueblo Chile Ornament class every December at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center.
