Standing with Our Community: Sangre de Cristo Arts Center Opens Doors to Wildfire Evacuees

For Immediate Release July 1, 2026

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: The Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center in response to the ongoing wildfire and evacuations, wants those affected to know that our campus inclusive of our Buell STEAM Children's Museum and Helen Thatcher White Galleries building are available to individuals and families who have been displaced to enjoy free of charge during our business hours until further notice.

Parents and guardians must remain onsite with their children and we ask those from evacuation zones to please share your zip codes upon entry.

As an arts, education, and culture hub for our great region we of course want to offer our services and spaces in this way at this very difficult time...to all of those affected by this wildfire, on behalf of our Arts Center Board and Staff, we stand with you at this very difficult time.

Sincerely,

Andy Sanchez
Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center CEO
