In photography, the golden hour is the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky. For an artist, the ability to capture these moments in time and how they reflect on the western landscape, is an exceptional talent. These selected works from the Francis E. King collection evoke this warm and enigmatic view of the Southwestern and Western landscape, capturing a particular moment in time at its most idyllic state; the golden hour.
Located in the King Gallery and on the 2nd floor Foyer of the Helen Thatcher White Galleries building.
