This class will explore the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel. No experience necessary! During the first few lessons, students will have a chance to get comfortable with the medium, tools, and terminology that go along with it. The last couple of sessions will encompass refining the wheel thrown work and learning to glaze the work. Students will create ikebana vases/bowls. Ikebana refers to the Japanese art of creating simple yet stunning flower arrangements with just a few flowers. Here students will learn to throw small bowls that will transform into "vases" suitable for the ikebana technique.
