Echoes of Excellence:
A Collection of Japanese Arts, Traditions, Impacts & Everyday Life
Dec. 20th, 2025 to May 23rd, 2026 | Mahlon Thatcher & Maylan White Gallery
Join us at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center for Echoes of Excellence | A Collection of Japanese Arts, Traditions, Impacts & Everyday Life, opening Saturday, December 20th from 10AM–4PM. Drawn from the private collection of Mark and Reiko Clark, this locally driven, community-centered exhibit explores the beauty of Japanese arts and traditions and how they continue to influence everyday life. The exhibition features a rich variety of works, including traditional Japanese art forms such as hagoita (badminton paddles), pottery, and a special presentation of Japan Style: Prints, showcasing a private collection gathered over 40 years. Echoes of Excellence also provides important cultural context by highlighting the lesser-known yet strong Japanese history and cultural influence within the diverse heritage of the Pueblo area. The exhibit will be on view through May 23, 2026.
