Jan. 10th, 2026 to June 27th, 2026 | Regional Gallery

Known as “Deadhand,” Shannon Palmer is a Pueblo, Colorado-based artist excelling in murals, visual art, and fashion design. She describes her style as “punk-surrealism.” Currently, Deadhand is working on creating large-scale murals on Pueblo’s Arkansas River Levee, contributing to the muralists' efforts to reclaim the title of having the world’s longest mural. When not painting above the river, she collaborates with Colorado galleries and fashion houses to create and showcase her work. The majority of Deadhand's work outside of murals is focused on fine art paintings and gallery installations. With 8 solo shows under her belt since the start of her career in 2021, Deadhand recently had the honor of creating and displaying her first runway collection. Her artistic vision aims to explore surreal themes, using vibrant colors while seamlessly incorporating goth and punk imagery into high art and fashion.

"In Conceited, I invite the viewer into a meditation on the ego—not just as vanity, but as a survival mechanism. This collection was born from a period of profound exhaustion and life-altering change, where the act of creating felt like a battle against my own limitations. For years, my goal was to exhibit in this gallery; now that I am here, this work explores the cost of that ambition. This collection is a study of the ego’s role in the creative process. With backgrounds of a bright aqua, I document the friction between personal exhaustion and the relentless desire to produce meaningful work. These images are more than reflections of my own life changes—they are an invitation to the viewer. As you move through this space, I ask you to consider the egos you carry and those you encounter. In the quiet of the blue, where does the ego end, and the true self begin?"
Bathed in bright colors, these works serve as vessels for processing the weight of internal and external expectations. By isolating these moments of self-focus, I  explore the thin line between selfishness and self preservation. I hope these pieces offer a mirror for your own relationship with ego: how it protects us, how it drains us, and what remains when we finally push through to the other side."
