ALTAR: ALBERT PACHAK | 11.4.22 – 02.25.23

In 2021, Albert Pachak entered five paintings into the Colorado State Fair, selling one, and winning four awards on three others. This includes 1st place in painting [emerging artist] and the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Award for Rest in Peace Grandma Mofield/ COV19 Prison Shower.

The exhibit’s title, Altar, refers to a table or flat-topped block used as the focus for a religious ritual, especially for making sacrifices or offerings to a deity.

The prisons, streets, and highways are the altars on which black and indigenous people have been murdered and imprisoned, by "law enforcement," at far greater rates than any other group in the U.S. These stolen lives systematically representing dead and living sacrifices to the white supremacist, corporate, colonialist, hateful, god that is money/capital/ownership.
