DAVE HAYDEN: LAKE PUEBLO STATE PARK: A SEASONAL RETROSPECTIVE | 1/18/22 – 4/1/22
Sangre de Cristo Arts Center's Photographer in Residence
Without shadows, light has no definition.
Every day Lake Pueblo State Park offers a different experience if you take the time to notice. As the sun travels across the sky, the shadows and highlights quietly change revealing previously unseen textures. Living nearby, I have the opportunity to visit the park daily and observe the changes that only exist for a moment, like a field full of sunflowers that has only revealed itself once in 10 years. As a photographer, I am compelled to witness and capture the beauty of these moments as they exist and will never be the same again.
Photographer David Hayden is a Colorado native, born in Pueblo and raised in Aurora. Currently operating under the tradename Pueblo West Photography, he has been an enthusiastic photographer since he received his first camera when he was 13.
To date, 25+ of his local interest photographs have appeared on the cover of The Pueblo West View. His prize-winning photographs have been on display at Steel City Artworks, The Pueblo Art Guild, throughout the Pueblo City-County Library District, The Idea Place in downtown Rocky Ford, Gallery 313 in La Junta CO, and Trinidad CO. His individual digital and printed images have been exhibited in 21 international galleries.
Dave is a commercial photographer specializing in product, event, and location imagery. His personal projects include still-life and landscape/travel photography. He is the current Photographer in Residence for the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and occasionally teaches photography for groups and individuals by appointment.
