2:00PM - 3:00PM - 4 Class Series

Join us for an educational course all about technology!

Do you ever get frustrated trying to balance the new ways of technology? Never fear, we’re here to help! The Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center is offering a FREE 4-course class to get you up to date. From emails to apps and even financial payments, you will learn how to navigate the internet world and utilize different features such as sending a text or email, ordering groceries, pharmacy delivery, paying bills online, video chatting relatives, social media, and much more! It's all at the tip of your fingers. Classes are available on the following Tuesdays from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the Rawlings Learning Center, located in the lower level of the Buell Children’s Museum. Students are encouraged to bring their smart phone and/or computer to class, as well as a notebook if they would like to take notes. The instructor will be demonstrating these lessons using a projector, screen, and slideshow presentation.

Week 1: Introduction to Modern Everyday Technology; Students will learn about tasks such as sending an email, composing a text, how to get online and access the internet, how smartphones work, and other helpful tips!

Week 2: Social Media and Apps; Students will be introduced to applications like Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram as well as how these apps and tools are used for communication, leisure, and to promote businesses.

Week 3: Financial Transactions; Students will learn the basic steps of how to transfer funds via apps like Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, etc. Students will also learn how to go about paying a bill online. Note that this class will teach students the basics of and tips for navigating and using these digital tools but is not a class providing financial or accounting advice. We always encourage students to consult their accounting, finance, and/or tax professional for specific questions or concerns related to their own finances.

Week 4: Helping Hands; Students will explore the world of delivery with helpful apps like Instacart, Nextdoor, Doordash, Grubhub, etc. Students will learn how to get prescriptions and groceries delivered to their homes, as well as how to go about booking a hand man/woman for home repairs or services.
