WE APPRECIATE YOU!

Your support helps the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center produce dance recitals, plays, exhibits classes, art walks, and much, much more, that in turn, helps propel the Arts Center toward its mission of creating artistic, cultural, and educational experiences for everyone.

Research has shown that communities, which emphasize the arts subsequently show more civic and social engagement, as well as better child welfare and lower poverty rates. Additionally, arts organizations stimulate business and economic growth, drive tourism, inspire young people, and promote intergenerational relationships.

Simply put, you are part of the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center, and your financial support helps fund the events, classes, and exhibits that you, your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors enjoy. To that end, what is listed below are some opportunities for donations or sponsorships that our programming experts and instructors have noted for your perusal. It is broken down by departments so please click the respective tabs to view all available options to support.

Contributions toward projects, classes, and other needs always are appreciated. If you would like to donate toward a specific event or another item, email shop@sdc-arts.org or call 719-295-7200. If your idea is not among the following listings below, we at the Arts Center would like to discuss all potential funding opportunities with you. Opportunities exist for individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, foundations, and more. Please call the listed program leaders or Karen Vigil, 719-295- 7200, ext. 7213, for an appointment to customize your concept. Thank you for considering a gift to the Arts Center!

Live music in class

Ongoing need

Having a pianist accompany ballet classes greatly enhances students’ ability to listen to and understand the music to which they dance. A pianist’s ability to vary tempos to suit different exercises and experiential levels is invaluable to the dance-teaching process.

Pianists are available to work at $15 per hour. If teachers were able to instruct 10 hours a week, the students’ learning experience would be improved. Please contact Nan Wainright, School of Dance artistic director, at nan@sdc-arts.org.

A donation of $3,000 for 20 weeks is sought and/or donations toward that amount also are appreciated.

Tax Benefits Icon Purple

Two New Tax Benefits

Universal Deduction for Donations Up to $300

For individuals and $600 for married-filing jointly couples.  For the over 9 out of 10 people who no longer itemize their charitable giving, Congress has extended the CARES Act and will allow these individual taxpayers to deduct donations to the charity of up to $300 for individuals and $600 for married-filing jointly couples on their 2021 federal tax return, even though they take the standard deduction.

Raising the Charitable Giving Deduction Cap

For those donors who are still able to itemize their deductions, and therefore directly write off gifts to charity, the current deduction cap is 60% of adjusted gross income*.  Corporations are able to deduct charitable donations up to 10% of taxable income.
