Representing the West features the work of invited artists who live and paint in the west and is the is the traditional kick off event for the Pueblo Chile and Frijoles Festival. All are known for their excellence in portraying the West. Featuring artworks in oil, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, the exhibit contains works in many mediums and styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary, with images showing the many dimensions of western life.
Representing the West is a national, invitational exhibition of traditional representational art in a realist tradition, depicting the Western American genre including the diversity of the land and its people. The Representing the West exhibit Artists to date include, Kim Mackey, Steven Day, Lorenzo Chavez, Nikolo Balkanski, Grant Redden, Patti Andre, Frank LaLumia, Teresa Vito, Leon Loughridge, Doug Candelaria, Lu Haskew, and Fran Dodd.
