Internships
The Internship Program at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center offers insight and on-the-job training for students or recent graduates.
Internships are available in the following Museum departments: Curatorial and Marketing/Design. When considering whether or not to apply for an internship, please keep in mind that they are unpaid.
Eligibility
All interested individuals eighteen years of age and older are eligible to apply for an internship. Qualifications vary for each intern, and a resume and or portfolio are required. Please note that depending on the internship, some prior experience and skills are also required.
Application
Potential interns must submit an application, resume and cover letter to be considered. Interviews and review of application, resume and cover letter will be handled the same as any other employee. This is essential to help the intern learn from the experience for future jobs placement. Please follow all instructions listed in each application.
Marketing Internship: June – August
Come learn what it takes to promote a fast-moving, multi-dimensional arts organization that includes seven galleries, an award-winning children’s museum, a school of arts, a school of dance, a ballet theatre company, active membership and facility rental. This internship provides you the opportunity to aid the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center team in promoting events, sharing enthusiasm and encouraging the public to engage in art-inspired experiences.
Curatorial Internship: June – August
Interested in a career in art galleries or museums? Contribute to the curatorial department and gain practical hands-on knowledge of exhibits and collections. This internship provides you the opportunity to aid the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center team in planning and installing exhibits and managing collections. Come learn what it takes to plan an exhibition, handle and install artwork and manage museum collections.
