June 15 – August 1

7 weeks packed full of artistic experiences based on a theme just for kids!

Full or Half Days Available (Weeks 1-6 are Monday-Thursday)

Full day 9 AM-4 PM                 $ 120 per week Non-Members / $ 108 per week Members

Morning 9 AM – 12 Noon       $ 80 per week Non-Members / $ 72 per week Members

Afternoon 1 PM - 4PM            $ 80 per week Non-Members / $ 72 per week Members

All weeks designed especially for youth, entering Grades 1st-6th (ages 6-11+) unless noted otherwise.  Opportunities for older students (8th-12thgrade) are available upon request.

Week 1: (June15-18)

Creating Animals in Art

Capture the animal world in visual and performing art! Learn to draw, paint, and sculpt realistic and imaginary creatures. Explore animal movement and sounds in dance, music, and theatre.

Week 2: (June 22-25)

Colorful Colorado: Junior Naturalists

Join the visiting Colorado Park Ranger Naturalist throughout the week as you create artwork inspired by Colorado’s beauty! Earn a Junior Ranger or Naturalist badge as you explore and create flowers, trees, bugs, and the natural beauty of our state.

Week 3: (June 29-July 2)

Treasures of the Southwest: Native American Arts

Inspired by the Summer Exhibitions, “Colors of the Southwest” and “Colorful Colorado: Camp Create-A-Lot”, participants will celebrate the native landscape of the southwest. Projects include kachina dolls, weaving, murals, storytelling and more!

Week 4: (July 6-9)

Water, Water, Water

All things are rockin’ under the ocean, so discover your artistic side under the sea in clay, movement, theater, drawing, painting and sculpture!  It’sJAWS with an artistic twist, so use your imagination to create sea creatures and mermaids with sea shells, watercolors, and bubbles.

Week 5: (July 13-16)

Dragons, Castles, & Crowns: Enchantment Camp

Design crazy castles, hats, creatures, and machines with an elegant flair. Explore clay, jewelry, fused glass, and more in this unique camp where steampunk meets “Alice in Wonderland”!

Week 6:  (July 20-23)

Inventors’ Dream: Gears and Fantastic Machines  

Please Note: This week is designed specifically for older youth artists going into grades 5th-9th (ages 10-14).

Build a mini-robot! Explore pinhole photography! Design machines of the past and future in paint, clay, music, theatre, and movement.  Put on your creativity cap and get your hands dirty on the potters’ wheel.

*Enrollment determines timing of wheel sessions.  

Week 7 (July 27- Aug 1)

Missoula Children’s Theatre presents “The Jungle Book”

No cost to audition | Learn with the professional touring actors!

Up to 60 young actors and actresses audition, practice, and put on a performance…all in one week!

Monday, July 27: 10 AM-12 Noon*

Auditions for youth entering K-12

    *(must be present entire time to be considered)

Tuesday July 27- Saturday, August 1

Rehearsals and Performance

Performance: Saturday, August 1: 2:00 PM

Main Stage in the Arts Center Theater

Register after auditions.  Tuition (cast roles only): $ 60 Non-Members / $ 54 Members

Depending on part, cast rehearsals are from 10:00 AM-2:30 PM (Rehearsal times and days vary by part and age)
